If your gonna go square ... I'd go with either a pair of l7 10's and drive the **** out of them or a single 15. Just make sure it's an L7 and not a 5. Get as much air space as you can. I would bet you could get 2 foot out of a single box easy. Do a sealed box though, ported boxes are to easy to screw up. That and they are bad about port noise ... once you get them moving the port makes a whistling noise and I think that ruins the sound of it.
I have a prefab box that will fit under the seat of an EC truck if you'd be interested. It's for a pair of 12's. I had my Kicker Comp VR's in it and they sounded pretty good.

I like the wya sealed boxes sound. I'm more into sound quality rather than just being loud though. My Comp VR's are in a .88 sealed box. That's as big as I could make the box and keep it behind the seat without crowding me. I think they could use a bit more air cause they lack serious on the low end, like 35Hz and below.

Its always a toss up on ported/sealed box. A ported will hit lower, louder and harder. The sealed box will hit tighter and not quite as loud. Typically you can get about 3db louder with a ported box. I have 1 jl 8w7 ported and a buddy of mine bought the same setup but went sealed and his sounds like crap compared to mine, bass wise.

Question??? How did you get a 1 ohm load out of 2 12w6's? The L7's are crap, they will handle considerably less power in a large ported box over a sealed. 2 In a sealed might be ok for your application, I can guarantee that if you port them with any amount of rms power to them they will seize the coils. Especially if you did that to those w6's. As for the L7's loving being ported? What have they changed on them since introduction? The first year they came out, they said they were not recommended for ported box usage and gave no recommended volumes for ported applications. I know now they have changed that but why? because to many people were complaining about no ported boxes? Well they havn't changed the sub, so these were designed for sealed applications and only ported to sell more subs and further there applications. They sound like *** comparatively to a high quality round sub, they blow very easily, there only attributes are they get loud as hell. So do audiobahns but usually only highschoolers go that route. Open your ears and listen to another brand.
