Wrecked my truck, is it automatically totalled because of water damage?
Anyone know if this truck will be totalled because of the water damage? I won't get to talk to the insurance guy until Monday, and I made sure to get plenty of pics of the truck before the tow truck pulled it out of the culvert. I'm not sure what the procedures are for determining flood damage so if anyone knows anything, please post.
A relative was driving the truck and they hydroplaned on a curve at about 45 mph, then the truck slid about 30 yards in the muddy ditch until hitting the culvert and rolling onto its side. They were only shook up a bit, thankfully. Here are is a pic.

If repair costs exceeds 75% of the vehicle's value, it can be classified as salvage. However, it would depend on your state's code & insurance company. I've heard of lesser damage being classified as "total losses".
