oh ****........did i say that? you would DEFINATELY be in the 12's if not faster.

loose the computer and you should be in good shape. you will have dash issues though but if you have the bank to do that motor, you can slap in a new custom Autometer dash too. you would have no other feasible choice other than a TH400, there isn't much else that would hold up with the torque that thing makes.

i wanna see it when it's done!

IM just in the thinking process.. My idea I want a truck that can blow everything away... Yu said that a Th400 will handle 620hp?
The computer can I just uplug it and run 2 double pumpers? But isn't the computer run the auto ? Is that why yu said go with the Th400?

I want to do this soon.. But I notice the compression is like 9.1 and make 620hp . I would think it could proably handle 9-10 pounds of boost... Yeeee haw.....

Ok I would personally invest myself with a small block. You will save a butt load of weight and make it up quick. 434 small block with 8.5 compression and either a twin turbo setup or a supercharger that is pushing out 15 lbs of boost. You will get better gas mileage, more dependability, and more horses and torque. I have came up with numbers being somewhere in the ball park to 700-800 on probably 8-9 lbs of boost. I am telling you this is the way to go.

the 700-R4 that is in it would never hold up to that motor. a TH400 can be built to handle much more than 620hp no problem. call carl rossler, he's the man for them. www.rosslertrans.com you wouldn't be able to use the computer with the new motor at all. you may be able to retain it for your guages but would have to get LT1 EDIT to kill all the codes that it would throw at you. you don't need two double pumpers on that motor either, it's not that hot of a motor, the one that it comes with would be plenty, that is unless you do end up supercharging it and then just one bigger one should work. you probably wouldn't be able to shove 9-10psi down it's throat either, it's a bit too high of compression for that unless you want to run race gas in it all the time.

my metioning above about the turbo or supercharger was on a 434 small block with 8.5 compression. Just dont want to get people confused.

There are a couple guys on Pacific Audio running a 4L80E behind a Ramjet 502. One of them is in an old body style Tahoe.

If the truck is gonna be a race truck only, I'd go with a powerglide and gut the hell out of the truck.

Oh yeah, here's a truck that is getting a ZZ572/Turbo 400 drivetrain.
