Dig around over on LS1truck. Redheartbeat has done this swap. You need a PCM out of a vehicle that originally had a 6l80e. He used one out of an express van.

I can understand the modules being write-protected, at least in terms of the end user potentially doing some shady stuff with theft/chop shops, (like what I was telling you about the gauge clusters) but there must be a way to overwrite it/wipe the TCM and start over. The parameters cannot be that linear that only one TCM will work with that one transmission it was mated to.

Worst case you might have to get a new TCM, which I'm assuming would come blank and the dealer could flash the proper tune.

nah found out today from Geoff. WORSE CASE, id have to take it to the dealer and they have to revin it. unless the ecm is fried (doubt it) the truck will crank up and but kills right away bc of the mismatch vins lol.

geoffs gonna scan the ecm if it wont read then imma go to the dealer. i messed up by tryin to install an 09 tune vs the 08 tune. i need a 08 6.2/6spd tune basically. im calling in sick Wed, and ill keep yall posted of whats going on. oh an a TCM is COSTLY
