Default 07 Yukon 5.3 towing enclosed

anyone tow to the limit with a yukon. im on the fence on getting an enclosed, 22ft v nose. i have a 07 yukon, 45k miles on it, 5.3 and a 4l60e transmission with 3.73 gears 4x2, tow package.

im pretty sure the yukon can tow 7500lbs or so. the trailer is 3100 and the car is 3100. probably 500lbs more of tools and id be right at 7000lbs in the trailer, then add the wife 110lbs and myself 210lbs im at 7350ish.

I have no problem buying a supercharger or even building the transmission. at the minimum i was going to get air bags in the rear and i have a wieght distribution hitch with sway control already. a trailer brake also is a must. i had a 2010 silverado with the 5.3 a6 and put a 4.10 rear gear in that truck, it towed like a dream. the yukon with the same motor doesnt seem as powerful even though its the same motor, let me know what you guys think.

I didnt see any threads better suited for you post, maybe general discussion.

I think its a personal choice,i know guys that dont feel comfortable towing 5klbs unless they have a3/4ton

Ive always been a 1/2ton guy and maxed them a lot over the years.Ive towed 10-12k lbs travel trailer and gear elk, quad, family, with the last 3 generations of 1/2tons excabs and crew and a tahoe. It would only be a couple times a year and not across country.

From your description I wouldnt have an issue towing the vnose unless you planned on doing it often and long distances.

I might do headers exhaust and tune. For sure the hitch, but spending the $ and a trans build and SC,just to make it more towable ,then it makes more sense to go 3/4 ton suburban or dmax truck.
IMHO

good to know, the transmission swap or building is really no big deal, i had a 07 f350 dually and for the 12 times i towed a year it wasnt worth it, the yukon just fit the bill, im tired of a bunch of different cars. one to do it all is nice and simple,
