08 CC Z-71 Exhaust options
#16
Its good to hear what every one is running. Can anyone post sound clips?
I have a welded Thrush muffler that I am tempted to install. I did hear of a descent local shop that can put some tail pipes on my muffler I install for a reasonable price. Guy does a lot of Hot Rods, comes highly recomended.
Still holding out on Magnaflow to release a part number for my CC swb 08

Flowmaster 70 Series works great too!
I'm running a Flowmaster 70 series on my nnbs 2008 Silverado Crewcab 5.3L with AFM/DoD. It has a very nice low frequency growl that sounds fabulous on acceleration and doesn't drown out the cab like others may. Adding a stage 2 CAI (HPR from Spectre) reduced the resonance even further, in addition to adding a considerable amount of torque and HP.
I tried a 50 Series before the 70 Series. When it kicked into displacement mode, the AFM sounded like a diesel 18-Wheeler letting off the accelerator peddle. Plus the resonance was extremely loud sitting int the back seat of the cab at highway speeds. I talked to the guys at Flowmaster, and they recommended I switch to the 70 Series for any DoD applications. I'm glad I listened to them. My catback is a custom pipe install, and the shop even swapped the muffler for me at no charge (since he recommended the 50 in the first place). I chose to use a Single Inlet, Dual Outlet muffler setup, with the tail pipes (Chrome Tips) at 45 degrees at the corner of the rear bumper.
I spent a lot of time listening to audio samples on Youtube before I chose my brand of muffler.
