08 rcsb 4/7
Hey guys I have a MCG 4/7 kit on the way (spindles, springs and flip). Just have a few questions. I have seen alignment kits talked about here on the forums will I need one? I am also running 275/55/20's will I have any rubbing issues? I will be using MCG shocks on the rear and going to stick with stock shocks up front for now does anybody advise against this while I have it apart? I have also seen where everybody is talking about tearing up ball joints?!?! whats up with that, is that just something I have to live with? Sorry for all the questions guys I just want to get this done as a one shot deal if I can because I need my truck for work. lol well any input or advice would be great. Thanks guys

You shouldn't rub with the 4/7. If you plan to haul stuff, you may want to invest in helper bags or a c-notch because frame to axle clearance is a little tight. Stock struts are fine with the drop coils, and you should be able to get it aligned to factory specs. I'd recommend belltech adjustable struts instead of the coils, but it's kinda late for that

Actually MCG has a new kit that lowers the stock coil mount kinda like the adj struts, you should have went with that because MCG coils suck and will sag, thats why some need alignment kits with MCG.
Tearing BJ's is probably by using a pickle fork to seperate BJ from spindle. If you hit the spindle with a BFH right on the side flat spot it should pop loose.
Dont forget to have a strut spring compressor and some tool like a sawzall to cutoff the rear bumpstop drop bracket thats welded to the frame.

That sucks about the MCG springs! I guess I will have to change them out once they crap out on me. So no notch will be needed for normal driving correct? Thanks guys

I have an 09 rcsb with the Belltech spindles and struts up front and the MCG flip kit in the rear, no C-notch. I have only hit the bump stops once and that was cuz my bike was in the back of the truck. No issues with normal everday driving. I'm also running 22's with 305/40/22 tires and no rubbing up front either. It also aligned perfect. I hope you get your kit on as easily as I did. Good luck man.
