Seems you have similiar themes coming thru on both of the threads that pertain to what u want to do.

How bout this? And this is an estimated guess.

How much additional weight by adding 4wd over 2wd? I think 400# is about right, as someone said.
Go from a RCSB to a ECSB. Add more weight, say 2-400# more.

Say it's a tossup betw. a RCSB 2wd & a ECSB 4wd.
Now, if it's ETs your after...I'll let you do the math. That's some mods just to overcome all that weight. Good luck w/ whatever route you go.

alright let me ask you something , do you have a family ,wife,kids,g/f planning on having kids ??? if you plan on having kids get an ES ir youre a single guy , or youre married with no plans for kids , GET THE RCSB if you wanna go fast. yeah its tight sometimes with the RC theres not too much space ,

but you cant have you cake and eat it too ...

do you need to have a 4wd ? well i guess so since i saw where ur from ...

Not married, no kids, have a g/f but not getting married anytime soon. I've basically decide on RCSB, (I know I've bounced back and forth about 3 times), and now I'm debating even getting 4wd. I had a 1990 GMC Sierra, 5.7L 2wd, and that was okay in the winter, not great, but okay. I've just been kind of figuring as I get older I'll like the 4wd for the MI winters. Who knows now...

I dont see the draw to reg cabs. Have your cake and eat it too. Go fast WITH room. Having an ext. cab now, I wont get any less than a crew cab next time. I don't think you mentioned budget, but if it's flexible I would go with a 6.0, ext. cab. 3.73s with the 6 speed auto. Sweet combo.

what i meant was , if u get a rcsb you get to go faster "eaiser" but no interior space and if you get an ES you get the extra space but u have to scarafice some speed ... u get it ...

What am I look at for a mileage difference on an EC 6.0? My budget is up to about $30k, but the less I spend, the more $$ I'll have to do mods, at least soon after buying it. I actually was checking out a couple ECSB 6.0L today online, and thought about that route. Can someone shoot me mileage differences? I don't really want to get myself into a 12mpg truck, but if they get 15 or so in the city, I could probably make it work.

I couldn't really tell you about the gas mileage on a NNBS, but I have an NBS ECSB w/ high compression 6.0 and 4.10s and it gets really bad gas mileage. I now know what people say with the saying "you can literally see the gas gauge moving." With the 3.42s out back I was getting really good gas mileage on the highway (22-23) and a constant 12.5 in the city. With the 4.10s mileage went down to 19 on the highway (65 cruise) and up to about 13.5 in the city. And those figures are taking it easy, no WOT. The new 6 speed auto will get you better gas mileage. Overall I'd say the 6.0 EC will get significantly worse gas mileage than the 5.3 reg cab.

From the sounds of that, I'll probably want to go with a RCSB 5.3L

Default rcsb 4x4

I just bought a rcsb 4wd 5.3 L that i am planning on modding. I bought a cai, ud pulley, and a circle d converter that i am planning on installing on it this weekend and a tune. I will definently take it out to the track this weekend if the weather permits and i will keep you posted
