only way that cam will be any good to you is if you go 6.0/6.2 with L92/LS3 heads.

the Zo6 cam will do plenty for you with that 5.3 if i was to redo my setup id do a 5.3/80e with a spec'd boost cam

No problem.. Honestly man .. I think it and the wheels make the truck.. So you cant really go wrong with that hood... Out of all the ones for the truck i think it looks the best.. I think there are maybe 3 other style hoods i looked at other than this brand..

Considering the cost of the LS9 cam, I'd say it is a damn good choice. The only downside is that it is a cam designed to pass emissions and be street legal, so power ability is limited. Its a bit of a dog lower in the lower RPMs, but it pulls hard up top.

considering the price of a LS6 cam vs that LS9 cam and it actually have the split his heads need, id rather do the LS6 cam vs the LS9. im just giving some advice that i think should be shared since the LS9 cam is designed around the L92/LS3 heads not the 243/799 heads

I think I am going to have trouble hooking even with the lower end power of the ls9 cam lacking.. So that might help me alittle as far as getting the truck going.. Plus I read that my 3.73 rear paired with the 4.03 first gear of the 6l90e should launch pretty hard....

I thought I read somewhere that the ls6 cam will not work with the newer 5.3s

change the cam gear to a 3 bolt 4x timing gear, its like 25.00 and you can find the LS6 cams dirt cheap. if you want to try the 211/230 good luck. its just not designed for those heads is all im saying.

If it doesnt seem to work out right for me.. I might have to switch to the Ls6 cam. I welcome all the help I can get.. Thanks man.. But I wont know for a few weeks as it stands anyway.. since all my truck is doing at the moment is holding down a spot in a garage.
