Default 2 in the rear

When taking out that spacer can I reuse the same U-bolts?
It looks like they will run out of threads before they will tighten back up.
Is there a torque spec on them?

Torque on the u-bolts is 74 lb ft. Lots of guys just add thicker washers, as long as you make sure not to shank out you are ok. GM says to replace u-bolts every time they are used (they also say that about rear diff cover bolts!) so your call.

the u-bolts will have barely enough threads, just make sure you tighten in a cross pattern and have the saddle centered..should have about 1/2" threads left.

and as mentioned 74ft lbs

Thanks for the quick response!!

Anyone know what size they are?
As much salt and crap as they use on the roads I might as well go ahead and swap them out.

If I had to guess they are probably 9/16 Dia, 6 or 8 inches long on a 3 inch tube.
I guess I will go look and see tomorrow.

i would just get the 2wd bolts. fits like a glove. i did this with lowering shackles and hd keys. my truck was 7.5 fender to tire in back and 5.5 in front. now i am 3" front and 4" back. thats for anyone that wants to do this type of lowering.. aligned and good to go. i need to post pics.
