Default 2011 brakes suck! Options?

The brakes on my 2011 silvo really kinda suck compared to my 2004 f150. It has rear drum brakes which is really shitty IMO, $35,000 truck with rear drum?!! Well anyways is there any better pad or rotors I can throw on the front? I'm not gonna buy aftermarket brakes so that's outing the question. Any suggestions?

Worth the money and noticeable just being the fronts? Where did u buy and I would assume Hawk pads, that's the pad I hear everyone running with good results?

I got a full set of cross drilled and slotted discs from Summit for $250.

I put them on myself and the brake pads... see even a girl can do it.

Drum brakes are out dated IMO. It's 2011, drum brakes should not be put on anything anymore... Just my $0.02

So your issue with them has nothing to do with function, just opinion? The GMT900 brakes are the best yet. My 6.2 truck has rear disc and I dont think the pedal feel is as good as an equivalent 5.3 truck with drums.

GM had a bunch of issues with drums on the older 800 trucks. They went back to drums in '05, and haven't had any issues since. They work, require less maintenance, and are less expensive.

If you're not doing 100mph+ runs on the freeway with heavy braking, the stock brakes are fine. I do prefer pads that are a bit more agressive, however. Also, you won't gain anything by installing stock replacement slotted/drilled rotors on the front. They just reduce pad contact area.

I get what your saying about the brakes etc. I just see drum brakes and think of '80's cars oldschool and still now brand new trucks still have them. I just feel ripped off that's all, lol. Around here I do do a lot of aggressive driving and always seem to be on the brakes hard.

Also I've seen a bulletin from GM stating how the front brakes have issues with them n what not. I brought the truck back in and they put new rotors on front but still suck. So that's why I'm asking if there's a "inexpensive" upgrade vs. new Big rotor brakes.
