2011 GMC Sierra Cam, Exhaust, Intake, ect...
Hey guys, I finally scraped up enough money to put some stuff in my engine bay. I am looking for a VERY RELIABLE Daily Driver that when cruising on the free way i get near what I do now stock...
I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 6.2l 2wd Ext Cab...
What I am looking for is:
-Cam- Something that sounds AMAZING, gives great low end yet doesnt run out up top. Can keep or remove the VVT and DOD.
-Tune- Maybe up the redline and tune in the cam.
-Intake- Is it needed? If so which one?
the stock exhaust seems to flow great... any reason to upgrade?
If you can give me the exact parts I will need to get what I want I will really appreciate it! Thanks!

First off, there are no exact parts that anyone can tell you that will be perfect. A lot is a matter of opinion. It sounds like you want it all and your cake too. You want an amazing sounding idle, well that takes a lot including eliminating the DOD/AFM. You will without a doubt sacrifice long term reliability and fuel mileage with a cam swap. There are other parts to change and valve springs have a limited life span. Yes you will need to raise the rev limiter and the stock exhaust is total junk.
My advice is to save your money and do some reading. I have been doing this for over 20 years and it took me almost a year to pick the right cam. And I have everything that I wanted, including the amazing idle.

FYI - no DOD on 6.2 pickups. 2010 and up 6.2 SUVs have DOD (L94 engine), but not the L92 or L9H pickups.
My opinion on your mods - FWIW:
Have Patrick Guerro spec a cam for you, and RETAIN THE VVT! Install good valve springs and pushrods at that time
1 3/4" or 1 7/8" ARH or Kooks LT headers
Retain the OEM cat-back. Sounds absolutely amazing - especially with LTs
A good tune - ECM and TCM
If you want to race it - a high-stall torque converter will pick that truck up a MINIMUM of .3 in the 1/4!
That'll do it!

Ok... I did some research...EPS sells comp cams vvt cams and comp cams says nothing about needing new pushrods just new springs and the phaser limiter, True?
-Cam- Comp Cams XFI VVT 156-402-13 (stage III) Details Here
-Springs- Comp Cams 26918 Beehive Ovate Spring, set of 16
-Phase Limiter- Comp Cams GM Gen IV VVT Cam Phaser Limiter Kit 63-5460
Where can I get all of this installed in Ohio? I would be willing to pay in money or beer if someone would be willing to help me...or a shop anyone knows of with FAIR prices in Ohio?
-Headers- LPP LT headers and ORY (when released soon)
I wish there was a sound clip of the stock exhaust with LTs and ORY pipe... but I will probably atleast start out with that and if I dont like it figure it out later...
Thanks for the help guys!

What are you about to do? Do you have LTs and stock exhaust? can you get a sound clip?
My plan if I kept the stock exhaust would be to cut it off right after the muffler (ditch the resonator) and dump it... or possibly dump it right after the resonator to start with.
