Hey everyone I have a question and I'm sure it's been asked a million times.But i need to know. I recently bought a 6.2 silverado ext cab 4x4 I love the truck and the power is outrageous but I was curious as to how do I know what tranny and rear end I have and other vehicle info that might be beneficial. I was told something about a tag in the glove box?? Can someone shine some light on this for me thanks!

 

Should have the 6l80. Maybe with 342 or 373s. Check the glove box for the codes

 

Yup you have the 6 speed mentioned above. Did you buy new? The window sticker will tell you gears.

If not what are rpm's while cruising at 60 mph?

 

RPO's - GU6- 3.42's GT4- 3.73's. If it an NHT its a 373. Trans is a 6L80.

 

Congrats on the new truck, I predict you'll continue to love it. Check out the attached. I found this when I bought my 2011 so there may be some things different on yours, but I bet the big pieces will have the same codes.

Yep. To find the rear ratio, just look at the grey sticker with the rpo codes in your glove box. look for something that starts with a "G" like GT6, or GU5 or whatever and let us know.

 

if you have z71 it will have 3.42 if it didnt come with 17" wheels stock you have 3.42 ratio

so RPO code NHT = 17" wheels and no z71

NHT = 3.73
