sorry guys for the late updates. i ran into a problem with my camshaft in the 6.2 and long story short need to replace the cam bearings. Since the block needs to be disassembled im going to build a 416.

to be 100% honest im kinda bummed about the progress on this so im thinking of just slapping a cam in the 5.3 and using the 416 in my c10. the silverado this was going in wont see the track, so ive kinda lost interest in doing the swap. the pickup is currently getting tubbed and dropped more with 24s and 26X12s and the intent was never huge hp so a 416 is way overkill for what i plan to use the truck for. sucks really

Im in the same boat. just did a DoD delete on my '11 5.3 and put in a 220/220 cam. Have a 78/75 on3 kit but putting it up for sale and going to go the procharger route.

So the swap was simple. Did you upgrade the cam and had problems our stock cam??. I just pick up a l92 and was looking for info. I wanted a 408 stroker but a 6.2 swap sounds more reliable for daily driven.

the issue was the stock cam in the 6.2 had worn a groove on the 2nd cam bearing, the cam was actually stuck in the block a little. I had never heard of it being an issue until i searched it on here and found a few people had come across the same issue. the vvt cam has a smaller surface area on the second lobe due to a valley i assume is for oiling. while the cam is chamfered to help prevent a groove there is still no wear on the middle portion of the cam bearing due to the valley... i can take some pictures if you like tonight to help explain.
