Default 2wd and slicks with a 4x4

Here's the deal. I want to attempt to run the truck in 2wd with a set of slicks on it, but I'm afraid that running a different size tire in the rear isn't going to play nice with the Autotrack. I don't want to be pulling the front driveshaft at the track either. Any suggestions or ideas?

agreed if its in 2wd i dont see why it would matter..maybe some one knows something i dont..altho if its awd then there would be an issue..but if its awd you wouldnt need slicks unless its in the 10s

are u tryin to run a shorter tire in the rear? if you for some reason do have to keep the tire size the same all the way around..and the slicks are a diff size then the fronts..you could also just find a set of cheap steel fronts and match the front tire size to the height of the rear slicks

Are you sure about that with Autotrac and Stabilitrac? Speed sensors aren't going to match up and I bet it causes issues. These aren't like the old manual shift 4x4s.

I guess I should have went into further detail. I'm not worried about the mechanics of it... I'm worried about the software/pcm issues. The 4x4 has ABS sensors front and rear, speed sensors, and all that jazz to deal with. What kind of ABS/Stabilitrac issues am I going to run into? I'm more worried about it throwing itself into limp mode after I've bought and paid for wheels and slicks.

Pull the fuses? I have 3 fuses I pull when I go to the track that disable all ABS and stabilitrack.

Which fuses and what do they disable? Complete traction control elimination?

I got back up at work today otherwise I would go out to the garage and tell you the exact numbers. I think I had a pic or a post on a forum saying the numbers, let me see if I can find it again.

But yes complete elimination. I noticed that even when i held the traction control till it flashed "stabilitrack disabled" it would still kick in if I spun really bad.

if you can take a pic of the fuse layout that on the backside of the fuse box lid I can tell you.

I remember something about that. I'll try to get it tomorrow.
