I had thought about the 3:90 also, but I haven't done any research to see if anyone was running it either. I did put 4:10 gears in my 2000 model chevy with 275/55-20's. The guy that bought it from me shattered the rearend and rebuilt it with 3:73. This was the only change he made in it and he claims he got better track times. This is why I ask the question between the two. I'm still leaning towards the 4:10, but this is also my DD.

i think 4.10's are better for torque (low rpm)
but 3.73 isnt too far off 4.10's... Ill still go to 4.10 from my current 3.73, it should help get my heavy truck going better than the 3.73 IMO

and having 22" wheels, i think the 4.10's would suit us better

Yeah, I agree about the 4:10's. Especially with our wheel and tire set up.

I am intrested in a gear swap also
BUT i love the topend of the 3.42s and i already have traction issues on the street.
SOO its hard for me to do a gear swap and make the traction issue worse
I was intrested in 3.73s i run a 28.5 tall tire

What's the point in having a 200+mph topend if you will never get there?

In 3rd gear with 29.74" tall tires I can hit 135 at 6500 rpm. I can get there and stay there pretty easily. 3rd gear with 4.30's pulls as hard as 2nd gear with 3.42's used to. I KINDA wish I could hit 140-150 but that's really damn fast in a truck. Need more HP/TQ to gain speed in 4th.

If you plan to run turbo down the road go with 3.42. If not get 4.11
