That converter is quite a jump from the stock one. So yes, it will need a retune.

Thanks good to know. Now is this something I can do with my diablo tuner or am I going to have to get a custom tune? Another Question my buddy has a converter but we don't know the stall is there a way to find out?

If the Diablo can change the torque converter clutch lockup parameters then yeah you could probably use it. But honestly id get a custom tune

You'll likely need to deal with some DTC's to prevent the transmission from going into "limp" mode. With a 3200, when you launch it, the PCM often thinks the transmission is slipping, and cranks the line pressures to max, and locks the transmission in either 2nd or 3rd(cant remember).

To start, changes in shift points will need to be accounted for, and timing changes since you'll drop to a lower part of the spark table faster.

Been there, done that. I kept getting shift solenoid codes and the trans going into limp mode after installing my last converter in the AV. I killed them with HPT, no problems after that except it felt like it needed a little higher shift points. The converter was still very loose feeling when it shifted so I bumped them up a hair.

Yep. I just don't know if his Diablo handheld will have the power that he needs. I doubt that it does, but I'm not positive.

I'd recommend HPTuners or EFI Live, or a custom tune from one of our sponsors.
