Default 4.10 or 4.56 for the track?

who's swapped their gears for 1/4 racing?

I'm pondering doing gear swap from my 3.42s.

the goal is to use up 3 gears and be wizzing up the top of third gear when trapping right?

I have the 6spd auto and was wondering what y'all went with for gears and what should I go with.

Depends on tire height.
30.5" or bigger 4.56
Under 30" 4.10

i've got the 6 speed and 4.10's
they're great on the hiway, about 2300RPM at 65-70mph

so if its more track goals you want, do the 4.56's.
sometimes I regret not going with a higher stall and lower gears haha

edit to add: my tires are the factory size for 2wd @ 245/70R17

I'm at about 31".

I reckon ill go 4.56.

I gotta do somthing quick to improve my track times!

ran the truck 5 times on Friday and I ran 15.6 et every time at 90mph.

best RT was a .270

normally I deep stage and can eek out a 0.50 RT. if I don't blow the light lol.

turbo is a future mod depending on how much money I can make over the summer.

4.56 gears and a turbo don't go as well together. Turbos like taller (lower numerically) gears to load the turbo better. Just food for thought.

2013 rcsb 5.3 4x4 . just has kn cold air. the truck is 3 months old.

no tune yet.

its either don't do gears and stall yet and save like a mad man for a turbo kit. and possibly not go any faster than 15.6 this entire race season. because by the time I pay for a turbo kit and its shipped here and installed and tuned will be at least 8 weeks or more.

or go gears and stall for the summer.

predicaments eh?

opinions?
