The first gear in the 6 speed is very low. I pull a 2.09 60' in a ccsb, stock 3.42s

I agree with James, fist gear isn't really all that long in the 6 speeds. Especially compared to the 4l60.

I run a 4.88 in the 4l60 and ecsb and its about perfect on a 4.8 truck with 33" tire. There is still enough load with a 2800 stall I bet I could use a turbo setup without spooling issues.

A turbo would spool just fine yes, but building boost off the line without pushing through the brakes would be tough.

To the OP
If your going turbo then keep your current gears. They are a great ratio for a turbo. A custom tune is the very first thing you need. I believe Nelson Performance had a build just like yours a while back that in basically stock form with a tune dropped close to a full second in the 1/4. I would say a tune would help you a ton!

what times are you running?

ok so ill keep the 3.42's for now.

I just booked an appointment for a tune at the local dyno tuner here in Edmonton. soonest is june 17th.

if I can buy a 3000rpm stall by then I will.

$750 bucks for a tune and $150 an hour for any other tuning I want done afterwards with future mods.

srems kinda steep pricewise but that's how it goes in Alberta.

my 60' is consistantly 2.4.

perhaps elevation is the culprit.

I'm at like 2200 ft.
