I would for sure get the gears over the tune but that is just me. The tune is safe and you can romp on it all day. The truck will be a ton more fun to drive with gears vs a tune. Once you get the tune, you will think it feels a lot better but you will still be stuck with long 3.42s. The tune might add 30-40hp..? (not sure) but gears will feel like 100 hp

Just my 2cents

It's prolly that monopoly money you guys use is the problem. Lol

In all seriousness though a mail order tune from a sponsor is only $300 with free retunes and on a basically stock vehicle will be just fine. For $750 you could buy hptuners or efilive and get an email tune from many tuners which is basically as good as a live tune.

Thats a good point. Get HP Tuners and gears. Best of both worlds and around the same price as your dyno tune

I'm gonna give the in person tune a shot.

someone is gonna have to in person tune the truck when I go turbo anyways so ill try these guys out and keep an eye on them.

the truck is brand new so I've got a few years to get it where I want it. after the tune and stall I'm gonna focus on the turbo.

and as some have said. ill go turbo before I go gears. and gear down accordingly for the turbo.

either way every little mod helps. just I'd like to focus on stall/ gears/ turbo/ tune for awhile.

either way this thing has to go faster. and I need to get much more consistant!

where are you from?
I play with that monopoly money too and it wouldn't cost $750 for a dyno tune here, mind you...still nowhere near as cheap as in the states

Tall gears dont load the turbo the engine loads the turbo, if you need a tall gear to build boost then you got something wrong in your setup. On a 4l60 or 4l80 you want to cross the 1/4 at your peak power in third, on the 6 speed you want to in 4th cause its the closest to 1-1 in the trans. So id leave the gear till you got a turbo and see how it does, hate to see you do it twice on a 4x4
