Default 4.8 vvt ??

Has anyone looked into the newer 4.8's having VVT ??? Came across a link today that mentioned 2010 and newer 4.8 have it... Kinda surprised it would gonna look under the hood of mine tomorrow and see if I can get a good look at the timing cover.. Just curious if anyone has messed with it...

Yep !!! My 2011 "did" lol ... We got ready to put in my cam setup or non vvt trucks and pulled the radiator and water pump, then BAM !! There it was .... The vvt timing cover lol .. It's gone now though Ha

Wow I was surprised.. The window sticker for my truck says VVT , I've looked around a little bit when changing the oil and never noticed anything unusual.. Now I'm curious and wanna look for it...

We didn't even think twice about it possibly having vvt... But sure enough lol it did ... I'm just glad they didn't put AFM on it as well ... Then that would have been a pain to do the cam swap... Are u doin a cam swap soon ? or no lol

No mods yet but this does change some of what I was thinking about doing... Yeah the 4.8 running on all 8 is slow can only imagine what it would be like in V4 mode lol...

you probably wouldn't know, the new ones seem to switch pretty quick when you get on it...

What about the same year 5.3's? Anyone know if they are vvt or afm?

I think they have both vvt with afm from what I've been told

@nalide .... Ur post about ur truck taking a dump made me sad lol ... I can't wait to turbo my 4.8 this year... I'm gonna juice it for now

@ guy .... Mines not too slow now that I got my problems worked out .... It was all in the headers !! I had shortys but now those larger diameter long tubes are where my power was hidden ...
