The boys at Diablo recalibrated my speedo by sending me the correct tune for my handheld and did a great job

I was told that a Tech2 cannot recalibrate the speedo, that the dealer needs to contact GM for a custom tune to load to the truck that has been altered for speedo compensation with gears or tires or both. The dealer was supposed to do mine when they installed my tires but Justin verified that it wasn't done when he tuned my truck.

The dealer does have to contact GM to do it, but its uploaded through the Tech II. I ran into this issue tuning a 4.8 ECSB on 36s. I couldn't get the speed sensors to work with the tires that big. Dealership had to do the speedo cal with a custom GM tune. I eventually figured out how to do it using only the VSS PPM tables without changing tire size to make it work correctly without using the GM tunes.

yeah Justin went ahead and fixed it for me. I'll be calling him again if I decide to go ahead and get 4.56s.

So it's looking like $2000+ for parts and labor from what I'm seeing here. That's pretty hefty, more than expected. Maybe I should throw that money at a cam and converter instead.

i think you'll be at 2g if you do a locker. but that depends on labor. i was quoted 1100 out the door for front and rear 4.56s installed (gears only, no new diff).

From where? I was quoted for around $500 labor only. Guess labor is alot cheaper down here.

Down where? That last guy got hit for $850 in labor alone. I'll so mine if I can keep it around a grand; twice that is a tougher pill to swallow.

South Texas... The only reason I haven't done the swap is because the motor blew on my turbo truck and im saving to fix it. But with the looks of it, the motor can wait, lol.
