5.3 to 6.2???

Intakes are different. You need the 6.2 intake and more than likely the 6.2 injectors as well. You also need to be careful with AFM/VVT meaning if the engines being swapped do not share the same set up? Your going to need to add or delete the corresponding system from the swap engine.
Cant think of much else right now. Sounds like a damn fun swap.
But as a small aside I agree with the yeard prices these days? holy crazy prices. I guess all the LSx swap mania has set the bar high. We are victims of our own success it seems lol

The engine we will get will be complete with an intake. I know it will drop right in. My main question was wiring as in sensors and plug ends and could the computer on his truck be tuned to run the 6.2 or will we need the wiring harness and computer. I assumed the computers were the same just programmed different.

You can re-use your 5.3 management ( ECM, harness etc ) no doubt which will need a re-tune as mentioned. But I cant say how completely "plug and play" the swap will be. There will probably be some things you will need to address on the wiring side, there always is. What those are? You'll have to get the pinouts of each year engine/vehicle and compare and work through. But a lot of things will overlap so its not a huge deal. If that seems beyond you? Be wary of taking on a swap. If your willing to do some homework and dig up the nec info when/if needed? You'll be off to the races in no time.
