6.0 vs 6.2
Well, it's new truck time. I'll be getting a new daily driver soon (next 2 months) and am deciding. It's going to be a Crew Cab little bed 4x4. I'm torn between the 6.2 and the 6.0. The trucks duties are pretty much a true truck duty, towing on weekends, hauling mulch, sod etc. It's mainly my daily driver/company truck. I spend a good deal of time on jobsites so 4 wheel drive is a must as well as a low range. Every truck I've owned I've pulled the stock tires off and gone with a 33 or so AT or MT, this will be no different. I know the 6.0 comes with the 3.73 gears while the 6.2 has 3.42s, once you go to a 33.5" tires (295/70R17) both ratios are a lot lower. I'm torn, there is one catch to this, it probably won't be tuned and I only run 89 (that's all our fleet supplier delivers). What would you do? It's between the 6.0 and the 6.2, I'm not a huge fan of the bucket seats either that your forced to get with the SLT package, I kinda like the idea of leather seats and the vinyl floor.

My choice is always go with more displacement. So I would try to get the 6.2. 3.42 gears sound a little low to me especially if you are planning on going with a larger tire, are you sure you can't get the 6.2 with 3.73 or 4.10's. If not I would just set the cash aside and go with 4.10's which ever one you choose.

Get the 6.0l save some cash it should come with the 6l80 now. And the 3.73 will help with hauling stuff.

I'm going to go 6.0 I think, I think there is still a bit left on the table with a minor tune and the 3.73s will really help out of the hole with a load.

I have only two mods planned, some 33" bfg mud terrains/leveling kit and a tune to run on 89 oct fuel. With that said I don't see a 6.0 like that hitting 14s and a 6.2 on 89 might not make 14s either.
