I went from 15.2 at 90 mph with a stock tune and running 91 octane premium, to 14.3 at 95 mph with a Black Bear tune and running E85. No other mods. This is a heavier truck than some - it's got side steps, skid plates, 33s, folding metal tonneau, etc. Including 200 lbs of driver, it weighed 5,650 at the state highway dept. scale on my way to the track.

You're welcome. I have an advantage over your buddy unless he's set up right and knows how to drive his truck - I launch in 4HI and don't have to worry about wheelspin.

Keep searching this board, there's a ton of great mod info. Also the folks at Black Bear can give him some suggestions - LINK

Have fun!

Haven't ran in the 1/4 (we only have a 1/8 around here) but in the 1/8 I've been 8.95 at 79 mph and some change, with a cai and a custom tune, but my truck is two wheel drive and ext cab.

I havent ran since the CIA which was about 2 years ago! Ha but tune only I ran a 9.0 and lance ran 8.90. He had the 20's. Both are ccsb 4x4 with custom tune. Then I got my vararam cai and outran him by a truck length so I may be in the 8.80's range in the 1/8. No 1/4 track close here..

Mine was at about 15 flat stock. It was down to the low 14s with a BB tune and MIT. After a UDP I am in the 14 flat to high 13s range. Keep in mind that these are G-tech times and launched in 4 high, but I have found the G-tech ET to be consistent with actual track times on other rigs. These trucks are tuned very conservatively from the factory and very sensitive to wanting high octane fuel (at high elevation you can get away with 87 though).
