I've been reading everything i can find today to figure out the lack of performance i experienced on my test drive of the 6.2 and thought maybe it's the octane. Now i see your numbers comparing results of 87 vs 93 octane and it basically doesn't justify paying $.30 more per gallon for 7hp/7tq.

I don't plan to mod the truck until warranty expires so wondering if 6.2 is really that much better (more power) than 5.3 stock with regular 87 octane unleaded???
stock for stock there is a big difference between 87 and 93 octane.. Because the truck is tuned for 91-93 so if you run 87 in it the truck really suffers.. My truck was a turd at first because they put 87 in it.. But i find it gets faster every time i drive it...

Thanks, that is the comparison I was looking for. My broke-in 5.3 felt faster than the new 6.2 I test drove although I'm sure it will loosen up just as my 5.3 did. The 6.2 did pull better at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear showing it's better torque. I will definetely find a way to run premium.

Wow good #'s!

I really need to get mine on the dyno to see what it lays down.

I ran the times in sig with out headers, etc so this really has my curiosity peaked as to how closely they would come in against the guys with headers.

The #'s were also run with very limited trans tuning done and on my 5.3 6L80 we picked up a good .3 to .5 tenths in the trans tuning.
