Default 6.2 fuel mileage update

First time going on a long trip without towing anything. Averaging 19.5 mpg running between 75 to 80. Not bad IMO.

That sounds great to me, my best to date has been a couple trips at 18.5. You're doing just a whisker less than my old 5.3 could do, and it wouldn't do that at 75 mph!

I managed a 20.00 mpg on a four hour trip this week. I was amazed. This was the first trip with the cam, so it was a bit of a surprise.

take those 20's off and see some 20+mpgs! I've grandpa'd my way to 25.5mpg @65 but driving like that sucks! I still manage 14 in city with tons of full throttle romps.
Is it wrong when your in your late 20's and still get the urge to drive like your 16??

Nope. Will be 29 next year and I still have a hard time not getting on it every time I take the truck out.

If I am nice to it I can see low 20's on the HWY, not sure what I am getting in the city.

Test drove a 2012 Sierra Tx Edition ECSB 2WD with the 6.2 liter a few days ago and was impressed. Reset the econ. gauge before driving it and was reading 19-20 on the highway at about 70 mph. The couple of WOT romps brought the average down a bit, but not enough to deter me from wanting one.

No trying to get a local dealership to find one for me equipped the way I want it. Right now dealers don't seem interested in locating a truck and bringing it in from somewhere else.

Now that winter is in full swing here, I'm lucky to see 18 on the highway. Could prob squeeze 19 out of it in the summer @70 w/ the cruise on.

I'm still enjoying it today at age 63 just as much as I did with my "arrest-me-red" Dodge R/T 440 Magnum in 1969!
