Yes the converter has to be locked up to be efficient. right now i get around 16.50 average mileage on the highway. remember i have 3.73 with 28.8 inch tall tires. when i cruse at 2K or under i get good mileage. 2K and over it drops off.

RJWZ i was def hoping for some sub 13.5 passes. i would love to see 13.2 i will be the first to let you know!!!!!!! I may also get an underdrive pulley on there before hand from SLP as well. who knows if that will do a damm thing.
Let us know when u get it in!! I'm interested in the same set-up!

converter is in!!!!!

like i said its a Circle D multi Disc. I told Chris 2800-3000 stall and that i tow!! It's looser than I though but not to bad. My tuner also adjusted the part throttle shift points up because he noticed how the truck lugged in 6th gear at 40MPH before the converter. i def need a bigger tranny cooler, truck is now seeing 208 temps and averages 187 or so. 1st gear is useless on stock tires lots of smoke and also flashes the converter the highest due to the steepest gear. 4WD launches are amazing its def on par with a stock evo or sti.

i will be going to the track on 4 drag radials on October 10th i hope to hook in 2WD but the 4 will be on just in case and to save weight over the stock tires. stock tires were 31.7 ( on the truck now ) and my radials are 28.8 on centerline billet wheels 18 inch. i will also be changing to a 6L90E filter and AMSOIL transmission fluid.

i will keep you guys posted on track times ASAP.

I'd venture to say 3200 if he tows. Chris wouldn't let me get a 245 since I tow, and I tow less than this guy I'd be willing to bet.

I am really upset that you're having such temperature issues. Get a Tru-Cool 40k and they'll go way down. My 258mm 3400 has temps around 150 or so in 100* weather. Tonight it was 60* driving home and I never saw over 120*.

how do you like that 258 3400? I wonder how it would compare to a 245 3400 in track performance

I love my 258 3400. When I ordered it I told Chris I wanted something LOOSE as hell. This thing barely moves til it hits 2800 RPM. The 245 is going to be less rotating mass for sure.
