Question 6.2L Redline

I have heard that the redline on the trucks is 5900.

Does anyone have any knowledge on this? I would like to know where to set my rev limiter.

I believe the first to second shift is raised to 6200 RPM and Third to fourth is like 6k or so, anyways I believe that rev limiter can be set safely to 6300. Maybe Wheatly will chime in on the matter.

With the stock cam, I had mine set at 6400 and the 1st to 2nd shift at 6100 and the rest at 6000. I have the limiter set at 7100 now and it shifts 1st to 2nd at 6800-6900. Its the stock valve springs that are the limiting factor.

The limiting factor will be the 6l80. GM recommends max rpm at 6200 for the 6l80. I have heard of problems with the trans above that RPM.

LS3 is still using a 6L80E, they have a max rpm of 6500. every website i see says 6500, an there are a few A6 vettes running 7k all
day long and pushing way more HP/TQ than me. ill
stick with my 6500
