I doublechecked everything and all 6.2-liter none-DOD car engines from Chevy (LS3, LSA, and LS9) have a 6600rpm redline. Since the rotating assembly and valvetrain in the LS3 should be no better than ours, I see no problem in setting the redline at 6600rpm or less.

Post tune. Factory is 5900. Does anyone here shift at 6600 with stock valvetrain? I'd be curious to know.

Me too. As I said before, the only car 6.2 I know of that redlines under 6600rpm is the L99 in the auto trans Camaros, which IIRC redlines at 6200 rpm due to its DOD valvetrain.

Gotta keep in mind that the truck 6.2 engines do NOT use the much lighter hollow stem intake valves either. Most likely different valve springs as well.

Good point. I'll have to investigate that.

Personally I don't want to rev mine beyond 6100 or 6200 without a better set of valve springs and pushrods.

I'm going to see how the 6200 works for me.
I did just buy some ls7 spring though.Hmmmmmm
I think I'm going to leave the valve train stock till warranty is up.

Mine stock shifts out at 5700 1-2 but 2-3 and 3-4 are 5400 leaving it in drive, im planning on getting HP tuners and setting to shift around 6100 and set redline around 6300

that sounds like a good setup! If it pulls all the way to 6100 it would be way better than 5700.
