Hey just thinking out loud here but, when writing the ECM/TCM and BCM couldn't one use the VIN from a 2500 or 3500 gasser too? If so, it seems that things may be a little more simple for people with pre 09 trucks who are wishing to do the swap. Because I believe most if not all 2500 and 3500 trucks came with the 6l90e starting in 07. Other then that there was only the denali and escalade (with top of the line interiors only) that came with the 6l80e for those first couple of years. So for people with the pre 09 trucks with lower grade interiors, it may make more sense to just use the vin off of a work truck 2500 or 3500 gasser to write all three modules.
Also, going back to what 01WS6/tamu said about the capability of the tu/td switch to function only being present on "uplevel bcms," I wonder if the 07-08 2500 and 3500 gasser base model work trucks had "uplevel bcms?" It seems like they wouldn't considering many of those trucks has manual windows, locks, and no options. If they don't, then is seems like any truck should have this capability rather then just the luxury models no?

Right, so I guess it just comes down to what defines an "uplevel" BCM. Because from what 01WS6/tamu said, it sounds like he defines an "uplevel" BCM as one that exists in a truck with luxury interior; but clearly there are many hd trucks with base model interior. Hopefully he will chime in.
It sure would be nice for anyone with GMT900 truck to be able to just flash all 3 Modules with one VIN rather then have the ECM/TCM flashed to one VIN that is the same year as your truck and have to go out and buy an "uplevel" BCM and have it flashed with a VIN out of a truck that has a similar interior and is 6l80e equipped. Because if the second option I just mentioned (what 01WS6/tamu is suggesting) is the only option, then that means people with 07-08 trucks with lower grade interior will have to buy a new BCM and flash it with a VIN from a 09 or newer truck (Since 09 is when 6l80e's were first offered in non HD lower grade interior trucks). As a result people with 07-08 trucks who swapped to a 6l80e would end up with one VIN for the ECM/TCM that is the same year VIN as there truck, a different VIN from an 09 or newer truck for the BCM, and an entirely new "uplevel" BCM itself (Again, this is assuming that what 01WS6/tamu is saying is the only option meaning that all GMT900 trucks with lower grade interior have BCM's which DO NOT possess the capability of allowing the tu/td switch to function)(This is also assuming that all VINs from HD trucks for the ECM/TCM and BCM cannot be used since no one has mentioned it yet)
Hopefully someone can straighten this out.

No love for the 2500 suburbans....The whole time I wanted a diesel and an allison....instead I get a little 6.0 and a 4L80.
GM totally cockteased me end of 07 when they had the 4.5 baby duramax in a 2500 suburban too.
Screw it I'll just keep putting more miles on this thing till they make me something worth buying.

We are using the 07 denali 2wd VIN software loaded into the factory 08 5.3 pcm. Controls the 6l90e just fine.
Truck runs and drives with no issues. No repinning was needed at all, only extended one connector for AC pressure switch to reach and the harness was plugnplay.
