Default 6L80 & 6.2 shifts?

Just wondering how others trucks shift after a tune? Mine will chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift at 3/4 throttle and catch a hard 2nd under full throttle.

Thanks

The 6L80 is very different from the 4L80...my 4L80 would hit hard in every gear, where as the 6L80 seems to need a little more time to catch the gear...1-2 shift is really solid and will give me a good bit of wheel hop at WOT...the 2-3 however is delayed, but then the 3-4 will hit hard too...this seems to be the norm with the 6spd...I have a couple buddys with them and even with different tuners we all shift the same...

Better be careful with that wheel hop on the shifts, you'll break internal parts.

Mine use to shift like yalls, now its a crisp shift with very little delay every shift. Also no chirping the tires, which is a plus for me. If your truck is banging the gears, chirping the tires....you are loosing time on your e.t

what he said.

mine on the 1-2 has a very slight firmness. the rest shift like stock at part throttle.

if i hammer it from a dig in first, it will spin through first, hit second, and keep spinning till i let off it.

an actual race from a dig, it will chirp the 1-2 and keep going. the 2-3 is assertive, but not hammering.

zero delay.

My shifts are not delayed at all and I have never gotten any wheel hop on the street or track.

Any chance you use HPT and would share your tune file? I'm having a hard time figuring out what works & what doesn't with these 6L80e's.

The fastest delay ive seen on every 6L80e ive scanned including mine is .04 shift time. Id think any faster it wouldn't allow the clutches to release/engage in a safe manor. Just my .02
