Default 93 octane?

I have a 6.2 Silverado. Would I notice a difference from the 91 to 93 octane? Or would I be wasting my money. The truck is stock. I don't know for how long though after reading a lot of these posts! I was always into the lifted trucks. I know quite a bit about the suspension side, but nothing on the go fast side!
Thanx in advance.

for the extra $3 u spend on a full tank, just run the 93 and dont look back

If youre not tuned youre not gonna notice any difference. Get your truck tuned for 93 octane then youll really be happy

Like the handheld tuners? In Maryland we don't have much for other tunings

6.2 requires premium gas from the factory.

the stock tune has two tables, high and low octane. the high octane is a little more agressive timing. so techinically there is a diff but it's so minimal most rarely notice a diff.
tune it, then you wont mind the extra cost of premium.

You will notice a loss of mpg and power with the stock 6.2 on regular gasoline. The truck is optimized for premium from the factory. However you will notice no difference between 91 and 93 unless your truck is tuned for optimum performance on 93. My 6.2 truck is tuned for 91 and runs exactly the same on 93. Why? Because the truck doesn't increase timing by itself when you put in high-octane fuel; it only pulls timing if it detects knock due to low-octane fuel. Run whatever premium you trust or can find easily if you are stock and plan to remain so; if you go for a tune you can be a bit more aggressive on 93 but keep in mind how common 93 is wherever you plan to travel. Just my $.02.
