Adding factory remote start
#13
Idk for sure if its the 2 way or not, how do I tell the difference? Mines a LT2 if it makes any difference. I got the remote start added on about a year ago. It cost me about $230 out the the door.
My wife's 08 Malibu, however, is horrible. I've never timed it but I bet it's 5-10 minutes and the range is proly 500'. I'm not impressed with it at all.

My stock one was crap it couldn't start from my living room had to walk to window where you could see the truck. Doesn't matter now remotes haven't been used since truck was 2 days old. Clifford fixed the problem

No can't just buy remote start remotes and have them programmed and work if your truck did not come factory equipped with remote start already. Go read on the first page I laid it all it how it has to be done and there is no way around it.

I understand that. My truck has the AP8. So it can be programmed but what I'm saying is could you take an eBay remote with the remote option And take that to the dealer instead of the GM oem. But I'm guessing the eBay one won't come with the code that the dealer needs when they call.
