When you purchase the remote start dealer installed kit there is also a activation code that is a one time use code and valid only for that time. This code is what allows remote start to be activated in the antitheft module and bcm. That code is given to gm TAC who then adds autostart to your VIN at the factory level not at the dealer level and then the dealer reprograms the bcm and the antitheft module with updated calibrations that allow the autostart to be activated. Then and only then will you have auto start. It's not something you can just take a set of remotes to a dealer and ask them to flash the above modules for autostart.

I haven't searched much, but can you use the regular or the two-way setup? What's the advantage of the two-way? Didn't know if you needed an entirely different setup for the two-way vs the regular.

You guys should look into the Directed Electronics DBALL from Bypasskit.com
Set it up as a RSR (Remote Start Ready) and done. Remote start for under $100. They also make plug and play harnesses so less splicing. Uses factory remote and just press lock 3 times. No AP8 needed. Set the run time from 1-60 mins. Adjust heated seat intensity and turn on temps. Diesel timers than any aftermarket remote can be added for additional range or a smart start system. Very popular. I work for a dealer and these are more popular. Maybe a little more work to install but very easy and works WAY better. Just my $0.02
