Thumbs up another g80 success story

Well earlier this week the good ol' G80 decided that it didn't want to unlock while I was turning. The chirping tires would have been cool if I had a spool. It only did it a few times, but it was a few times too many so its off to the dealer in the morning for them to look at it. It hasn't done it in a few days and I know that its not going to do it while the tech drives it, so hopefully I get lucky and they'll warranty it out for me. Wish me luck. Oh and there is a couple more warranty items, the driver window rattles on the way down like its loose in the tracks and sometimes it won't roll down until I roll the other 3 down. The steering wheel makes a rubbing noise when I turn and the a/c blower makes a rattling noise. Anyone else have these problems?

I've had the G80 problem a couple times in about a year.

Mine did the same thing about a week ago. Took it to the dealership and they rebuilt the whole rear-end. They said parts of the spider gears were down my axle tubes.

I took it in today and dropped it off but they didn't have time to tear it down. So I got to drop it off Monday after work and they're going to tear it down that evening or Tuesday morning. The service writer said that it might have the wrong fluid in it, but I haven't changed the fluid out and it only has 21k miles. They took an oil sample and came up with that conclusion. So we will see next week.

Well I got my truck back today and they couldn't find anything wrong with the rearend. They had a service bulletin on changing the gear oil to a different type. Not sure exactly what type they put in there. I have to bring it back for the window later on, he thinks its the cable on the window regulator making the noise and they didn't have time to rip into it today. He said that it'll only take about an hour one afternoon, so its no big deal. The window still works for now.
