Default Any of you guys w/ 6.2 and a converter?

I talked w/ Chris at Circle D this morning about getting a converter (265) for my truck. My 60fts went from 1.90 to 2.15-.20 with the Ls9 Cam swap and I am sure this thing will pick up on the 60ft.

Anyhow, your input would be nice as to how much your's picked up ET wise and if the fuel sacrifice was worth it. Either way, I am going to order one today or tomorrow.

I haven't really noticed much mpg loss and like being able to lock up the converter better when cruising down the highway, as well as, locking it up in 3rd and 4th during WOT.

I cannot comment on how much of this is attributed to the converter alone, but I went from a 12.8x 1/4 mile to a 12.65 1/4 mile with the converter and gained a few mph. I have a little trouble getting traction now, but was getting 1.8 60's with the converter. I am sure it is good for more improvements but I'll need to sort a few other things and look into better tires for the AWD first.

I wouldn't be the least bit surpised if your truck went a 12.7 after the convertor, that LS9 cam is definitely tailored for a higher rpm band. Keep my eye on this thread to see the results.

Since I don't have a 1/4 mile track within about 2 hours of me, I don't have any 1/4 times. If you don't mind me asking what was your 1/8 time on that 13.22....? I'm guessing around 8.50-8.60?

Ok, thanks 62nalide! I'm interested to see his time!! Im doing the ls9 cam install like him and was curious about the 1/8 time I should expect. Not to hijack the thread, but just wondering.

It went a 8.4X on the 13.22 pass, but that raises my eyebrow for a thought I had in the back of my head. I have yet to duplicate the 8.4x pass other then the day I was there at Dallas Raceway. I have been to a couple 1/8 mile tracks and ran 8.70's@84. There might have been something corkey going on that day since you guys mentioned a slower 1/8 ET then mine and a faster 1/4. The truck really does run on the BIG end, it's a monster on the hwy.....but it just doesnt add up.

At the same time I remember my truck cutting 2.10-2.11 sixty foots and now it wont do any better then a 2.20........
