The TCM programming and how it interacts with other modules within the vehicle is where the problem is.

Switch's are the easy part

Couldnt the wires from the shift lever be spliced into the new switch?

No because the vette uses a completely different control strategy.
The trucks TU/TD switch goes to the bcm and then is databus communication from the BCM to the TCM.

The vette has a single hardwired connection from the switchs directly to the TCM in the transmission.

So when you flash the tranny for a vette tune all of the truck modules and the transmission wigs out when they start trying to talk back and forth on the bus.

The trucks not happy cause the tranny is not communicating correctly. The tranny's not happy cause it thinks it's in a vette and cant communicate with the truck modules.

Think of it this way the truck speaks german, and the tranny is speaking czech

Chevy Malibu LTZ Steering Wheel 08 2008 25898303 | eBay

does anyone know if this wheel would fit the column?

it has similar cruise/radio controls and the plug looks identical to ours which I believe could be plug and play or repinned pretty simply.

and has anyone confirmed how the shift buttons work? the plug coming out the shifter has 4 wires 2 of which control the tow haul mode

So after reading a bit on the corvette forums the paddles work just like ours if you pull the switch (on either side) it downshifts if you push the switch (on either side) it upshifts so both switches can up/down shift.

people have modified this by swapping a couple of wires to make the left paddle upshift and the right paddle downshift when you pull em.

can someone get me the wiring diagram of the Silverado switch I'm pretty confident I can make it work.

Default Paddle shifter

Alright it’s been 5 years since you guys last posted hopefully someone has figured this out I have a 05 Silverado with a ls3 and a 6l80e both out of a 2014 Camaro. Has anyone been able to add the paddle shifters. Also I have a stand alone psi harness so I have one wire coming from ecu for the paddle shifter
