no i dont think its needed on a gas motor

I use the 57045 and a magnet wrap on my GMT900...

And a 51522 with magnet wrap on my 800. Everything I own gets WIX filter. Lawnmower, tractor, 4 wheelers, trucks, you name it. Best filters made IMO... We run all WIX filters on our gas compression engines. They work!

I just picked up a WIX 57045 for mine today. Asked for a 2012 Impala V6 filter to avoid any resistance from the parts guy.

im going to go back on that statment. if you have a boosted engine it mite help. oil gets dirty quick. Im going to get a single by pass
