buying new 6.2 NEED HELP!
#11
FWIW ...... I tow same trailer /wt ...... if you want to tow 70mph for long distances the 6.2 should do it easy at 2000rpm you want the smallest amount of throttle % to get the best mileage at a given speed / rpm ...........play witha gear ratio calculator to see what rear gear you can do that with you may find towing in 5th with the 3.42 is better than towing in 6th with the 3.73 ........pick your tow mph and see what gear/ final drive ratio tows best ........... mine tows best in 5th with 4.11's my 5.3 needs to be at 2200 -2500 to get best mileage but not a 6.2
And yes those two wheel sizes from GM are same height ..not an issue

As its a mote point now that you picked up a truck, but the reason why they why they don't put 20in rims on the Max trailering package is cause the suspension is specifically tuned for them (Thats the answers i got my GM themselfs).
The Texas edition with the 20's and 6.2 has a Bigger sway bar/different shocks and apperently their "High peformance suspension" to accomdate the additional weight/size with the 20in wheels
