Cai vs warrenty
I have a 2008 gmc cc 5.3 w the 100k mile powertrain warranty. I'm getting ready to install a vararam tri-power cai. Does anybody know for a fact if this voids the powertrain warranty?!

Honestly I dont know. It really all depends on the dealership and how the service tech/manager feels.. If I were in your shoes, id just install it and in the event something happens that you have to take it in, just swap it out with your stock unit. Doesnt take all that long

It 100% depends on the dealership... That is it.
After I post this, someone else is going to post that it "can only void your warranty if the dealership can prove it caused the damage" to any powertrain component.
Then another person will mention something about the "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 and blah blah blah"
The point is, to actually get anything done, it will most likely require some form of litigation and let's be frank, no one really wants to do that.
So you have 3 options IMO:
1) Assume you have no warranty because you are now operating outside of the original design intent of the powertrain. Because you ARE.
2) If you need to warranty something, drive around to multiple dealerships until you find one that will do the work.
3) Become best buddies with a service manager at the dealership of your choice so they will be more lenient.

I'd call around to dealerships(starting with where you bought it) The dealer I bought my truck from says they just won't warranty the intake. Obviously other more major parts it's a different story, but it's rally up to the dealer on some things. There's a little gray area for them to play in on warranty work.
