Hey Area47, Brutalsierra was having a bit of issues with his tune, mainly his total timing and his picking up audible knock at only 24degs, does that sound odd ? What do you run on your truck ? I know on my Iroc-Z Im running 28degs and its just fine (And it has 11:1:1 compression).

Thanks bud

i did some research and seen my Custom tune From Diablo had 21* spark as well.

Missing that tune more and more each day.

Ahh, well 3degs will definetly make a difference. I was just curious to see what he's running in his truck as a baseline

I'm still thinking it was the gas. i bought it in Santa-Fe instead of my normal station.

it honestly relies heavily on octane. on pump, i run a peak of 23. pump being 91 octane. the timing i run my truck now is well above this due to e85. if the truck wasn't trying to push 5k+ lbs all the time, it could run higher timing levels. hence the difference between your iroc and the truck in terms of timing. also have to keep in mind that the variable cam plays into ignition timing as well. dynamic compression changes in a blink of an eye. regardless of what the static number may be.

the only timing adder table that i have is the vcp table. the iat adder table doesn't come into the game till it hits 120+ degress on temps.

Makes a whole lot of sense, thanks for the reply Area47. Im sure Brutal just got some shitty gas somewhere.

peak timing in terms happens above 5500. flat timing table is setting ones self up for failure
