a buddy and I dicked around on my swap...took breaks here and there, went and had dinner. in no means rushed to get it done and had it done in 5 hours, and we worked slow when we were working. It's the easiest swap you'll do

There is a lot of bad information going on with DOD/AFM cam swaps, and to set the record straight, you have to replace the lifters and trays alog with all the other doo-dads to actually get into the lifters, to make the truck run correct.

Anyone running a cam on an AFM engine with AFM lifters might as well just buy AAA roadside assistance, because you will need it.

I had my DOD turned off even befor the cam swap but when i installed the cam it went to crap. My cam was damaged and i had one lifter fail completely. I caught it cause it started with a misfire and it turned out to be a lifter that had collapsed. Well, when i took out the cam it was damaged so i replaced the cam, lifters, and valley cover and that took care of it.
