Can the electric fans be set at 185 on 2008 silverado vortec max
JUST put in 160 thermostat in runs 180 or so whould like fans when idling to come on earlier.is there a factory preset setting they were lowered once but is there away to lower more any tricks.

my friend does my tunes,and he has hp tuners,i have the 160 thermostat runs say 180 185 what should fans be set at.what should be the degrees spread for on and off?what are you guys running?I thought he said it wouldnt go any lower than 195 or so what do u have to do?

Unless the outdoor ambient temp is cold enough to physically cool the coolant off to 160 it will not run that cold. In our neck of the woods you will usually run 180 or so even with a 160 degree stat due to the outdoor temp unless it's winter time in the 40's or so.
So if the outdoor temp is low and you are hovering around 180 bringing the fans on at idle will probably cool you off to 180. Or once the vehicle begins moving it will probably cool off to 180.
Every vehicle may require slightly different fan settings to achieve what you are after and it will vary due to time of year and outdoor temp. You can program the fan on off temp however your hearts content.
