Default Cant decide...

I want to go FI, I have the full exhaust already so a S/C is probably the better choice. Not sure if I want a Maggie/Whipple/Procharger....
I mean I could sell the kooks headers and get a turbo kit, but I still dont know what to get. I like the idea of the turbo because the boost can be changed for DD status and cranked up on e85 for Mexico trips ect. I have a 6.2 and I have a ls9 cam on the work bench....I would like some input from current boosted 6.2 owners, my truck sometimes idles for hrs in the summer but I can pop the hood some to keep temps down.

idles for hrs not a good thing. I have a maggie TVS1900 Kind of wish i had a TVS2300 for when I put a 7.0l in it when this motor pops in 300,000 miles and the truck is paid off and i win the lottery. I got the kit and a 3" pully and a belt. If you get it from Black Bear you get a Auto Cal and his tune. The maggie tune sucks. Silverado Sierra 6.2L 2011 Magnuson Supercharger - Magnuson Products, LLC Turbos look like so much work.

With idling that much you will need some dramatic mods just to keep it sane. You will need a big trans cooler, and a bigger heat exchanger than comes in the kit. Also you will need some very powerful fans. I would stay away from turbos, bc I think you would cook them. also meth injection would be usefull. I know a spacer is being used by lots of people to reduce heat soak. A tvs2300 would complement your truck nicely.

If I get it from black bear and use their tune will the Maggie warranty be valid?

yall know diesels idle for hours on end, and have you seen where they put turbos on diesels

Ive idled mine for a couple-few hours at a time during the heat of the summer, ill just pop the hood and put something under it like a antifreeze or WWF bottle so it will have a gap.
IATs still get high but ECT and TFT stays in check.

If I went turbo I would keep a spare to swap out if the seals let go ect. Just not to sure what I want, I just emailed Kennybell because they have a liquid cooled kit for the camaro's maybe they can fit the truck...Never know you might see the kooks for sale thread soon lol

Go with a procharger I don't like my turbo drivability plus keep the boost to 9lbs max IMO and get BIG injectors like 85lbs

His tune will not void the warranty. But to have a warranty it has to be installed by a ASE certified mechanic , a GM dealer or a Magnuson retailer.
