Catch Cans Again

Installed this catch can today. I noticed on start up that there is a rushing air type sound. I definitely have no leaks in the hose going into or out of the catch can. I guess its just the sounds of the air moving threw the catch can. Only ran it for about 40 miles so far and nothing in the can yet. Anybody experience a similar sound after installing one of these?

im confused about the "dirty side" thing. I thought the dirty side was always the passenger valve cover? on the mike norris website all the pics are shown with the can tied into the passenger side valve cover. looking for a little clarification here.... ?

Dirty side is always driver side on the LS-based truck engines. It's the side with the PCV valve and it goes to the intake manifold. It's basically the last connection before being recycled through the engine. Think of the path the airflow takes: Clean air enters the intake tube past the air filter, from the intake tube it goes into the passenger side valve cover, through the engine and out the driver side valve cover then into the intake manifold.

Two is best, but if you only use one, you should definitely have it on the other side. The clean side would only catch oil at WOT, when you don't have manifold vacuum, but if you had it on the dirty side you'd be catching the majority of the oil under normal driving.

I am dumping more than a qt every 1k miles into the manifold. Would this be of much help to me? I would be dumping it all the time. What would cause that much oil to get into the manifold?
