I believe it's his Dad's place (CDT).

well i talked to i believe it was glenn and he said just to streghtn my tranny which is all they have for the 6 speed is 1600 or 1700 if its in good working condition with low miles.. but thats not a shift kit or anything thats just adding a few more clutch plates and friction plates and valve body work.. im hoping thats shipped but i doubt it!! if something is wrong with your tranny it could be $2200 or so to fix and do that! idk but thats awful steep for just adding diff clutches and valve body work!! my buddy has a awd ss and he had a guy build his whole tranny with shift kit, servos, everything for bout 1800-2000 bucks...

I got a call from Glenn I believe and he told me the same thing. New clutches and what not for about $1800+shipping if the tranny was still in good condition. They were very informative and helpful. He explained to me the big difference in strenght would come from the tuning.

Whats killing me is that I forgot to ask how much hp the tranny would be good for once they build it up. Did you happen to ask?

You are failing to realize a few things here. Your tranns and your buddies are totally different. From what i have seen circle-d is r&d all this stuff for the 6 speed in house. I Also believe there are not many others doing anything for the 6L80's. Do some searches with different builders and most probably will not offer anything for your trans but a rebuild. What i am getting at the market is not flooded with the newer trans so of coarse it is going to cost more until more people have and start modifying them. Do a google search for 6l80E performance upgrades and see what you get.

well yea i kind kno theres a difference guys, i was just comparing the price diff thats all, im gona hate to kno what a shift kit and all would cost when they come out with one if that was just this high and yea i kno its all new and its gona be expensive but i just figured they would be just a tad cheaper or do a little more but either way was just sayin..

and he told me they were holding up to 800 hp cars so far he said anything close to that or over they were havn a little trouble.. But he said the new drums there building would help push it over that 800 hp mark so idk he said maybe soon they will have some other stuff to add to the upgrade.. and yes he was very helpful and yea expressed the tuning very much as well as this is ONLY a STRENGHTING upgrade but a great guy to talk to

I think ~800hp should be good enough for most of us.
But I think I might hold out on "strengtening" the tranny until they get a couple more upgrades and maybe a shift kit for these things.
And I agree with you guys that it may be a little pricey but we also have to take into consideration that as far as I know Circle D is the only one doing anything to these six speed trannies.

Let the R&D be finished by various companies 1st. Just cause CDT is who has it in works, others just haven't said so. I'd bet there are others workin on some products, just give it time & don't beat on em or else you're gonna em up payin.
Supply & demand. Supply (limited amt. of builders doin this so far/ or have available products) & demand (by consumers).

Default Circle D

I have a brand new in the box Circle D 3000-3200 tb converter that I bought from Circle D before winter and never installed. I also have the vette servos too that im trying to get rid of. Im going with a duramax so i have to sell the vortec max so I decided to keep the trans stock. But circle D has a great reputation and very friendly to work with. Pm me if interested and i can send pics too.
