i just ordered a bte 12inch converter for my truck. its a 2500-2800 stall. my truck is a 2008 5.3 mild cam and bolt ons. i was told that u cant put the converter in the truck with out getting it tuned. if i put the converter in and dont get it tuned for a few day will it hurt anything? will it put the truck into a fail safe mode or produce any codes?? i appreciate all the input

 

No, you will be fine. With a converter that tight it will probably never throw a code...

 

also going to do away with the pulse with management in the valve body for the torque converter. so when it goes into lockup its 100% locked up not that 70 or 80% locked up.

 

i dont see a problem. When i had a cammed 4.8 in my old truck, I added a 2600 converter and never had it retuned.

 

i have a 2500stall in mine w/ a 4.8, stock tune, no codes, drives great.

 

My Circle D 3200 was fine for the 3 weeks I drove on it untuned, but it was locking at WOT in 3rd gear so I just stayed out of it around those speeds until it was tuned.
