Default Couple of NNBS questions

Hey guys, ive been away from this site for a while as i sold my 99 silverado for a Cummins Dodge.. I know how great this place is from when I was doing work on my old Chevrolet.. I am in the process of selling my Dodge and coming back to The General.. First off is there any reason that I should avoid looking at the 07's? I know the first year of production can be kind of tricky.. I kicked myself a couple of times for buying a 99 as even the 00's had a bunch of improved features.. Are there any known problems to look out for IE Cold Start Knock on the nbs? Also is there anyway to get the 6 speed transmission without getting the 6.2?? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info! Looking on ebay I see that some of the 09's came with them.. Im guessing it was a special order feature in 09??

Was it an optional thing or was the 6 speed standard in 2009?

2009 the 5.3 came with the 6speed stock, no option for it. then they put the 6.2 in the 2010+ and dropped the 6.0 so the 2010 has the 5.3/6.2 with 6speeds the 4.3/4.8 still get the 60e unless you just so happen to get a 70e which has an extra speed sensor, and STILL weak as hell.

Skipper is correct, 09 5.3's with 6 speed were crew cabs.

As far as the 07's are concerned, I've had mine for just over 3 years now, and its been in the shop once and that was for a broken latch on the underseat storage. Thats it. Now the latch on the center seat storage just broke last week, but I'm told it can't be fixed with a replacement part, have to replace the entire seat==$400 (**** that) Other than that this truck has been flawless.
