I think your fuel tank is probably factory, however when the new fuel pump was installed it may have been hung an inch or two higher in the tank. You basically ran out of gas and when you mashed the loud pedal, the remaining gas sloshed to the rear and it leaned out. This caused knock and sensor discrepancies so the truck went to limp mode.
